"Books, books, books." I sang quietly to myself as I scanned the bookshelves of the Knightwood library.

After a fun breakfast with all the guys, which ended up with Nikolai and Marcus throwing hot water at each other, I decided to look around Knightwood.

Daniel stayed behind to heal Nikolai and Marcus. Thankfully, they had only gotten 1st-degree burns which, apparently, to a dragon and hellhound shifter, was "nothing." Kai said he'd be sketching in his room, and Elias was going to head out to train with Marcus after. Nikolai wanted to join in the training, another way for him to piss off Marcus, which I knew he was doing on purpose. Again.

That left me with touring the massive grounds with Ryder Carter. We'd both been quiet, only some small talk occurring, but it wasn't uncomfortable or awkward. My body seemed to relax around him and, weirdly enough, I held his hand while we were exploring, using the excuse that I didn't want to get lost.

It was as if my body craved to be around him and inevitably touch him, but my mind still struggled to accept the idea that I'd been with all of these amazing men. They were so uniquely different and strong, and it just left me baffled as to how they could have been called together on my behalf.

Guess it still hadn't sunk in that I was a Princess or that I was fated to be some amazing woman who would fight with her star knights to save our galaxy from some dark essence.

We ended up at the library that was still open during the school break. Ryder said I could spend as much time as I wanted, and I took up the offer so that I could look at some of the many books.

I didn't remember whether I enjoyed books or not. I didn't know what I liked or disliked anymore. I knew my favorites like milk, unicorns, anything remotely sweet, hugging Nikolai...sex. Do those even count?

Regardless, being in the library left me with a nostalgic feeling, especially when I placed my hands along the spines of the books that were encased in large brown bookshelves.

I felt like I had some type of connection with them, and I yearned to open and reveal the knowledge they contained.

I paused at a book, pulling it out to view the pages. It talked about the power of a hellhound, which was why it caught my interest, reminding me of Blaze.

"Children with hellhound spirits have a high death rate due to their flames being extremely powerful. It could turn on the host and consume them, killing them both...I didn't know that," I mumbled, continuing my read.

"Does that mean Nick was lucky to be able to control Blaze?" Rose asked, sounding intrigued.

"I guess," I said out loud. "Hmm. It says here that the chance of female hellhound is one percent and they're usually sick for the majority of their childhood."

"Must be more fragile? Hellhound spirits are a rarity alone, and I guess the possibility of residing in a female is harder?" Rose suggested.
